Countertop terminal with a 3.5" touchscreen, built-in printer and dual merchant IDs.
Overview
A wired-or-wireless countertop terminal: 3.5" colour touchscreen, integrated receipt printer, Ethernet and Wi-Fi with automatic failback, and support for two merchant IDs on one device.
The Valor VP100 is a countertop payment terminal built around a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen and an integrated receipt printer. It is a payment device rather than a point-of-sale system: it sits beside whatever till or software a business already runs and concentrates on taking the payment, printing the receipt and getting the money moving.
Two features set it apart from a plain card machine. It supports two merchant IDs on one terminal, which matters for a business running more than one entity, brand or revenue stream through a single counter and wanting the funds separated without a second device. And it has an auto-connection failback procedure: it runs on Ethernet or Wi-Fi and moves between them rather than stopping when one drops.
On the counter it handles digital signature capture with printed, SMS or emailed receipts, splits bills across a group, and is EBT-enabled. There is a built-in customer feedback rating system, and the terminal is supported by the manufacturer's SMS and email marketing tools if a business wants to use them.
Three things to confirm rather than assume. First, contactless is an option on this model, not a fitted standard - the manufacturer's specification lists the contactless reader as optional and the contactless indicator LED as not fitted, so if customers need to tap, confirm it is included in the configuration you are quoted. Second, this model is certified to PCI PTS 4.x in the manufacturer's specification documents, while some of that manufacturer's other published material cites a higher figure; if your business has a specific PTS requirement, we confirm the current approval before you order. Third, this is a Linux-based terminal rather than an Android POS, so it runs Valor's payment application rather than an app marketplace - the VP550 is the Android device in this range.
Which features are enabled, whether dual pricing or surcharging is configured, and what the terminal is set up to do depend on your merchant account rather than the hardware, so we confirm them during setup.
