Overview

About this hardware

A kitchen display that replaces paper tickets: orders arrive from the Clover till and online ordering in real time, colour-coded by status, on a heat-tolerant aluminium screen that takes power and network over one Power over Ethernet cable.

The Clover Kitchen Display System is a screen for the kitchen, not a card machine. It takes no payment. What it does is replace the printer and the paper tickets: orders arrive from the Clover till, from Clover Online Ordering and from BentoBox in real time, colour-coded by status, on one screen that everybody works from.

It is built for the environment it sits in, which is the part that matters when you are choosing between this and a general-purpose monitor. The housing is temperature-resistant aluminium rated to 122°F (50°C). It has ingress protection against water and dust so it can be wiped down, and an anti-fingerprint coating so wiping it down actually works. The speakers are bi-directional and rated at 85 decibels at 0.1 metres, which is loud enough to cut through a kitchen at service.

Installation is simpler than it looks. It supports Power over Ethernet to the PoE+ standard, IEEE 802.3at, so one cable carries both the network and the power - no socket needed behind the screen. Wi-Fi and ordinary LAN work too. It takes a standard 100mm VESA mount, so wall brackets, shelf mounts and stands from any supplier will fit.

Clover makes it in 14-inch and 24-inch models; the documentation we hold covers the 14-inch. A touch-responsive bump bar is available if your kitchen would rather hit a physical button than the screen.

It reports on prep times and order movement, which is the quiet reason most kitchens keep it: you can see where service is slowing down rather than guessing.

Questions

About the Clover Kitchen Display System

Will this work with my processing arrangement?
That is confirmed before anything is ordered. A terminal has to be certified for the acquiring arrangement your account runs on, and Apex checks that against your specific setup rather than assuming it.
Why are there no prices on these pages?
Hardware is quoted against how and where it will be used - how many units, whether they are bought or supplied with an account, and what has to integrate with them. A single published figure would be wrong more often than it was right, so we quote instead.
Why do some products show no specifications?
Apex publishes a specification only after it has been checked against product data. A record marked as an illustrative example represents a category of hardware we can source, and publishes nothing technical at all until there is something confirmed to publish.
What happens when a terminal fails?
Replacement and support terms are agreed as part of the arrangement rather than left to the day it matters. Ask about them before you order, not after.
